His obituary in the Morehead News reported “Fred Crawford, age 73, of Dry Creek Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Edgewood Estates of Frenchburg, Kentucky. He was born April 13, 1933, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of Clyde Crawford who passed away May 21, 1989, and Opal Eliza Crose Crawford, who passed away January 14, 1981. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildreth Armilda Mays Crawford on March 14, 1997, and a sister, Juanita Crawford Clevenger, on November 28, 2003. He is survived by one daughter, Susie Marie Perry of Morehead, Kentucky; three sons, Fred Crawford, Jr. of Salyersville, Kentucky, Joseph Dale Crawford and David Crawford, both of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters, Shirley Crawford Walton and Christine Crawford Jennings, both of Clearfield, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Suszanne Jones Knipp, Sgt. Robert Allen Jones, Jr., Jonda Lynn Morris, Jeremy Crawford, Amanda Crawford, and Rebecca Crawford; two great-granddaughters, Marissa Nicloe Crawford and the light of his life, Kandice Marie Bowling. Also his family extends to the friends and staff of Edgewood Estates of Menifee County. He was a former employee of Ray L. White and Sons. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Woodward officiating; burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Sgt. Robert Allen Jones, Jr., Suszanne Jones Knipp, Matthew Virgil Knipp, Archie Ray Bowling, Jeffrey Wallace Smith, and Jonda Lynn Morris.”
