His death certificate records Jessie Conn, age 59 years 8 months 11 days, born 16 Oct 1853 in Kentucky, died 27 June 1913 in Soldier, Carter Co., Ky, widower, farmer, father James Conn, mother’s maiden name Sallie Baer, both born in Kentucky, cause of death pulmonary tuberculosis, informant Harrison Conn, Lawton, Ky, burial place blank.
The reported age and birthdate are mutually consistent, but are 10 years off from what is suggested by census records for the Jesse Conn who married Della Henderson (other than the 1900 census, which is also off from the others.)
Because of that birthdate discrepancy, several online family trees instead identify this Jesse Conn with the one who died in 1926 in Farmers, Rowan Co., with no parents given on the certificate. The reported birth date of June 1863 (in Elliott Co.) on that death certificate is a better fit with the census records (although this Jesse Conn’s birth date is listed as Oct 1862 in the 1900 census), but the Jesse Conn son of Josiah Conn, with wife Elizabeth Stephens, was enumerated in Farmers in the 1920 census, and he was the only Jesse Conn born in the 1860’s listed in the 1870 or 1880 census of Elliott Co., so the 1926 death certificate is much more likely to be his.

I am entering this family into my database mainly because I want to keep track of records that help distiguish between the Jesse Conn of Carter Co. who married Della Henderson and the Jesse Conn of Elliott Co. who married Elizabeth Stephens, since they are only about two years apart in age, and many online family researchers confuse them.
Census
1900 census of Kanawha Co., West Virginia, Cabin Creek district, enumerated 8 June, lists on p. 11A as family #206:
Conn, Jesse, 37, b. Oct 1862, Ky W.Va Ky, day laborer; Della, wife, 29, b. Mar 1871, married 15 years, mother of 5 children, 5 living; Willie H., son, 12, b. Nov 1887; James H., son, 10, b. May 1890; Lucy J., dau, 7, b. Sep 1892; Louada, dau, 4, b. Apr 1896; Dewey Francis, son, 2, b. May 1898. All children born Ky Ky Ky.
According to later censuses and marriage records, Dewey was a daughter, not a son.
1910 census of Carter Co., Ky, Upper Tygart precinct, enumerated 2 April, lists on p. 6A as family #87:
Conn, Jessee, 55, widowed, b. Ky Va Ky, farmer; Louadia, dau, 22; Harrison, son, 21; Harvey, son, 20; Dewey, dau, 6; Orfa, dau, 4. All children born Ky Ky Ky.
The ages for Jessee, Louadia and Dewey are very inconsistent with the 1900 census.
