Notes for William Randolph Collier
Lee County, VA  1822-1823 William R. made deeds to his sons John B.,  William R., and David Collier, being part of the land he had purchased from William Yates and Joseph Head.
Southwest VA Tax Assessments, 1815,  Lee County by Mary B. Kegley:  Randolph Collier, one farm in Turkey Cove on the north side of Wallins Ridge,  300 acres having thereon one dwelling house of wood, 1 1/2 "story", 22 feet by 18 feet, one smoke house, one loom house, one barn, one stable, valued at $1,000.00.

William Randolph Collier, Sr. was an Official Overseer of the Poor and as such took care of Shadrack Roberts from 1837-1838 and Eleanor Roberts from 1837-1846.  Shadrack and Eleanor were probably the parents of William Randolph’s wife, Catherine Roberts. The county paid for this support, so it cannot be said positively that these were Catherine`s parents.
