Notes for Margie Mae Hanes
The Kentucky birth index lists Marga M. Hanes, born 18 Dec 1932 in Rowan Co., mother’s maiden name Elizabeth Alkins.

Her obituary in the Morehead News reported:

“Margie Mae Hanes Combs, 76, of Clearfield Street, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born on December 18, 1932 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Edgar and Elizabeth Adkins Hanes.

She was a retired housekeeper and member of the End Time Harvest Tabernacle. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening and fishing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Lee Hanes, two sisters, Ivory Pearl Hanes and Carolyn Marie Hanes and a great-grandchild, Joey Haines.

Survivors include one son, David (Malinda) Andrews of Morehead, an adopted son, Cecil Howard of Strausburg, Virginia, four daughters, Bernice Bradley, Opal Bradley and Patricia (Chris) Duffy all of Morehead and Kathy Haines of Renlap, Alabama, three brothers, Kenneth C. Hanes of Ocala, Florida, Denville L. Hanes of Morehead and Billy Ray Hanes of Roanoke, Virginia, three sisters, Mary E. Burton, Nelma Riley and Joyce Pennington all of Morehead, eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in the Clearfield Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.”

(Since no husband is mentioned as either surviving or predeceasing her, I assume that both marriages ended in divorce.)
