Notes for Bethana Carter
Some trees online at Ancestry.com show her death as 14 Oct 1895 in Morgan Co., but John was remarried to Mary Ann Hasty by 1867, with his children by Bethena living with them in the 1870 census. It would seem somewhat unusual for the children of a divorce in the 1860’s to be living with the father and his second wife if the first wife was still living, so I am somewhat skeptical of the death data for Bethana.
