Notes for George W. Fraley
His WW I draft registration card, filed 12 Sep 1918, records George Fraley, age 33, residence Olive Hill, Carter Co., Ky, born 14 Oct 1885, occupation brick yarding, employer Harbison Walker Co., Olive Hill, Carter Co., Ky, nearest relative Bertha Fraley, wife, same address.

(The only George Fraley I am really interested in is the one who was the son of Butler Fraley and married Bertha Baldridge, but there were five George Fraleys born in Rowan/Carter/Elliott counties between 1882 and 1890, so I want to enter enough data about them all to help other researchers tell them apart, which one married whom, etc. This one is especially easy to confuse, since his wife was also named Bertha.)

His death certificate records George Fraley, age 45 years 3 months 23 days, born 14 Oct 1885 in Leon, Ky, died 6 Feb 1931 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., Ohio, residence 827 11th St., ward 3, married, husband of Bertha Fraley, occupation roller at steel mill, father Alfred Fraley, mother’s maiden name Martha Childers, both born in Willard, Ky, cause of death injury to head, cerebral concussion, struck by street car on March 30, informant Mrs. Bertha Fraley, Portsmouth, Ohio, burial in Greenlawn.
