Her obituary reported “Virginia M. Alfrey, 80, of Chesterfield, died May 1, 2008, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness. She was born June 4, 1927, in Indianapolis.

She lived in Chesterfield for 61 years and was employed in production at Delco Remy 27 years before retiring in 1979.

She was an active member of Chesterfield Christian Church and "Electa" Circle of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1946.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James E. Alfrey of Chesterfield; three sons, Stephen M. (Diane) Alfrey, Keith Alfrey and Brian Alfrey, all of Anderson, brothers-in-law, Larry Alfrey and Charles Hutton of Anderson; and four grandchildren, Megan Alfrey, Josh (Heather) Alfrey, Randi Alfrey and Kyle Alfrey.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Kinnaman; her father and stepmother, Virgil and Helen; and a sister, Alyce Hutton.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Chesterfield Christian Church with Pastor Ned Clark officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 S. Rangeline Road.

Memorial contributions may be made to Chesterfield Christian Church.”
