Notes for Flossie Mae Conn
The Kentucky birth index lists Flossie M. Conn, born 23 Sep 1925 in Breathitt Co. (a misindexing11 of Rowan Co.), mother’s maiden name Martha Sturns.

It is a delayed certificate, filed in 1947, which is why it is misindexed. (Records from the 1920’s and 1930’s are usually indexed correctly, but those from the 40’s through 60’s are not.) Since it is delayed by 20 years, most likely filed when it was needed to apply for a Social Security number, the date may be incorrect.

The SSDI lists Flossie Johnson, born 23 Sep 1925, died 15 Mar 1998, last residence Lewisburg, Logan Co., Ky, SSN issued in Kentucky before 1951.

The Kentucky death index lists Flossie M. Johnson, age 72, died 16 Mar 1998 in Logan Co.

Her obituary in the Bowling Green Daily News reported:

“LEWISBURG - Flossie Mae Johnson, 72, of Lewisburg died at 3:35 p.m. March 16, 1998 at a Russellville nursing home. The London native was a nurse’s aide at Logan County Hospital and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was the wife of the late Boyd Lawrence Johnson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home with burial in Elk Lick Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Felicia Lynn Johnson and Frances Gail Johnson, both of Lewisburg; two sons, Roger Johnson and Doug Johnson, both of Lewisburg; a sister, Loraine McGowan of Jamestown; three grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.”

She is buried under a double stone with her husband Boyd Johnson.
