The age at death implies a birthdate of 16 Jan 1872. Bessie has mistakenly entered her own father’s name in the Father field, and the married name of Delilah’s mother in the Mother’s maiden name field.

Since Elijah was recorded as age 6 in the 1860 census, with a younger brother James age 2, the birthdate is clearly wrong.

They have apparently interpreted the “number of children living” to be the number living in the household, because Elijah and Delilah’s daughter Ethel was still living.
