I believe this to be the same son listed as Peter Bruce Easterling age 1 in the 1880 census. There is no later record for Peter Bruce, and Henry does not appear in the 1880 census.

It is possible, however, that Henry Garfield’s birthdate was really in 1881 instead of 1879 as he reported it to be, and that Peter Bruce died in childhood.
