(The image scan is extremely whited out, and I cannot verify that those are actually the recorded names. It is the way Ancestry transcribed them.)

His death certificate records Bud Isom, age 69 years 8 months 19 days, born 15 Oct 1859 in Kentucky, died 4 July 1929 in Morgan Co., Ky, father Argalus Isom, mother’s maiden name Missouri Hannah, both born in Kentucky, cause of death arterio-sclerosis, informant Jim Isom, Caney, Ky, burial info blank.

Elliott Co., Ky death records list Melissa Ison, age 52, married, died 18 April 1910 of consumption, born in Newcombe, Elliott Co., died in Isonville, parents G. W. & Elizabeth Fraley, father born in Newcombe, Ky, mother born in Va.

Many family trees record her as a daughter of her grandparents James Fraley and Jemima Wagoner, since she was raised by them nearly from birth.

I cannot find her in the 1860 census.

Elliott Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 9 Mar 1877 of Argalus Ison, age 16, born in Morgan Co., father born in Bourbon Co., to Malissa Fraley, born in Morgan Co., father born in Lawrence Co., both residents of Elliott Co., Ku.

In 1880 Argalus was listed with his father, as divorced, but it was apparently really just a temporary separation. Malissa was listed with James and Gemima Fraley as Malissa M. Ison, age 21, granddaughter, married. There was also an Elizabeth Ison, age 3, recorded as granddaughter, but she was probably really Malissa’s daughter and thus a great-granddaughter of James and Gemima.

1900 census of Elliott Co., Ky, Newcomb precinct, enumerated 2 June, lists on p. 2A as family #21:
Ison, Argalus, 41, b. Oct 1858, Ky Ky Ky, farmer; Malissa, wife, 41, b. Apr 1859, Ky Ky Va, married 23 years, mother of 8 children, 5 living; John M., son, 18, b. June 1881; James A., son, 13, b. Dec 1886; Lucy E., dau, 10, b. May 1890; Anna A., dau, 6, b. Aug 1893. All children born Ky Ky Ky.

1910 census of Elliott Co., Ky, precinct 3, enumerated 21 April, lists on p. 2B as family #33:
Ison, Argalus, 52, farmer; Melissa, wife, 52, first marriage for both, married 32 years, mother of 8 children, 4 living; Anna, dau, 16; John, son, 29; Nancy E, dau-in-law, 34, first marriage for both, married 9 years, mother of 4 children, 4 living; Melissa E., granddau, 8; George W., grandson, 5; Lola, granddau, 3; Argalus, grandson, 6/12. All born Ky Ky Ky.

(Malissa died on 18 April, but the census is supposed to list everyone who was living in the household on April 15.)
