The SSDI lists Charles Robinson, born 8 Feb 1883, died Jan 1972, last residence Decatur, Macon Co., Illinois.

His obituary in the Decatur Herald Review reported “Charles Amos Robinson, 88, of Decatur, died at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mr. Robinson was born in Warrensburg, Feb. 8, 1883, a son of Amos and Louisa M. Schroeder Robinson. He farmed the family farm for several years in this area. He moved to Decatur four years ago when he retired.

He married J. Mabel Riddle in 1923, who survives.

Other survivors are a son, Donald A. of Decatur; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Nelpha) Decker, Charleston; Mrs. John (Ethel) Taylor, Decatur; and Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Gardner, Decatur; a brother, Percy I. "Jack", of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A son, a sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild preceded him in death.”

(There was another Charles A. Robinson also born in Illinois in 1883, who married Lena Allen on 2 Feb 1906 in Butler Co., Missouri, residing in Scott Co., Illinois, who is not the same as this one, since he and Lena were listed together in Scott Co. in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses.)

Her obituary in the Decatur Herald-Review reported “Mrs. Charles (J. Mabel Riddle) Robinson, 77, of Lincoln Manor North, formerly of Warrensburg, died 10:17 a.m. Friday (Nov. 25, 1977) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Dawsson & Wikoff Funeral Home, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mrs. Robinson was born in Decatur, daughter of John D. and Effie Riddle. She was a member of the Forsyth Rebekah Lodge and married Charles A. Robinson in 1923. He died in 1972.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Gardner of Decatur; son, Donald A. of Decatur; stepchildren, Mrs. John (Ethel) Taylor, Decatur; Mrs. Nelpha Decker of Charleston; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

One stepson and two brothers preceded her in death.”
