His obituary reported “William Alexander Jones, 86, retired farmer and former Bath County Magistrate, died at 1 p. m. Monday at the home of a son, Irvine Jones in Nicholas County near Sharpsburg.
He was a native of Bath County, son of the late Joseph (Elijah is crossed out) and Mary Robinson Jones.
Survivors include four other sons, Frank Jones, Anderson, IN, Arthur Jones, Bath County, Omer Jones, Bourbon County and Carl Jones, Nicholas County, two daughters, Mrs Minor Ritchie, Nicholas County, and Mrs. Richard McVey, Mason County, five sisters, Mrs. Neil Manley, Ashland, Mrs. W. M. Sexton, St. Albans, WV, Mrs. W. D. Manley, Versailles, Mrs. Charles Vallandingham, Lincolnville, IN and Mrs. Russell Turner, Owingsvilles and a half brother, John Snedegar, Salt Lick.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the chapel of Shrout, Piper & Shrout funeral home here, services conducted by the Rev. George C. Frey, pastor of the Owingsville Christian Church. Burial was in Owingsville Cemetery.”
