Notes for Thomas & Elizabeth (Family)
Bath Co., Ky marriage book 1 records the marriage on 28 Sep 1823 of Thomas Lewis and Elizabeth Minear.
Census
1850 census of Bath Co., Ky, division 2, enumerated 11 Sep, lists on p. 101 as family #683:
Thomas Lewis, 53, farmer; Elizabeth, 44; Jonithan, 25; Henry, 21; Nancy J., 19; Hannah, 17; Mary A., 15; Louisa, 13; Henry C., 11; Lucinda, 9; Elizabeth, 7; Josephine, 5; Moses, 1; Peter Cassity, 60. All born in Kentucky.

The presence of two Henry Lewis’s in the household, aged 10 years apart, suggests that either one of them is not the son of Thomas and Elizabeth, or the name of one of them was recorded wrong. One possibility is that the younger Henry should really be a daughter Henrietta C; the 1860 census lists Cynthia age 20 who is otherwise unaccounted for.

Also, Thomas and Elizabeth are reportedly the parents of the Hannah H. Lewis who married John W. Ellington in 1842 and was living him in 1850, recorded as age 27. If that Hannah is their daughter, then she was probably really just 26 in 1850 (since Thomas and Elizabeth were married in late 1823), and the one listed with them here as age 17 must be some other relation, perhaps a daughter-in-law. On the other hand, her age fits neatly between Nancy and Mary, so it is possible that the Hannah Lewis who married John W. Ellington is not really the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth.

1860 census of Bath Co., Ky, Owingsville P.O., enumerated 28 July, lists on p. 146 as family #1047:
Thomas Lewis, 62, farmer; Elizabeth, 54; Mary, 24; Cynthia, 20; Lucinda, 17; Elizabeth, 15; Josephine, 13; Moses, 11. All born in Kentucky.
