His death certificate records Anse Bailey, age 57 years 3 months 20 days, born 16 Apr 1887 in West Virginia, died 15 Aug 1944 in rural Frenchburg, married, husband of Sarah Short Bailey, farmer, father Harvey Bailey, mother’s maiden name Rhoda Cline, both born in West Virginia, cause of death bronchiostasis, related cause nasal polyps, informant Sarah Bailey, burial in R. J. Ingram Cemetery.

FindAGrave.com lists him both in Ingram Cemetery and Ginter Cemetery.

Be careful not to confuse him with Anse Bailey born 28 Feb 1886 in McDowell Co., W.Va, died 1 Jan 1943 in McDowell Co., son of Andy Bailey and Mary Cline, who married first Rosa Belle Meadows and second Hazel Blankenship.

I cannot find this family in the 1920 census. It is likely that they were living in Menifee Co and just missed by the census, since there are births reported for children in Menifee in 1919 and 1922.

1930 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Lower Beaver precinct, enumerated 11 April, lists on p. 1A as family #6:
Bailey, Anse, 42, age at first marriage 20, b. WVa WVa WVa, farmer; Sarah, wife, 44, age at first marriage 21, b. WVa Ky N.C.; Nina, dau, 15; Luther, son, 8; Hettine M., dau, 5; Hobert, son, 21, married, age at first marriage 18; Grace, 20, age at first marriage 17, b. Ky Ky Ky; Leon, grandson, 1 3/12, b. Ky Ky Ky. All of Anse’s children born Ky WVa WVa.
