Census Notes for William & Anna Eliza (Family)
1880 census of Bath Co., Ky, Polksville precinct, enumerated 3 June, lists on p. 3 as family #22:
Spence, Jane, 49, farmer, widowed; Nancy E., 25, dau, single; Wollerry, 7, grandson; Spence, William, 28, relationship blank (indicates head of household), 28, works on farm; Liza A., 16, wife; Thomas A., 3, son; George W., 7/12, b. Oct. All born Ky Ky Ky.

Technically, William should have been given his own family number, such as 22/23, or else he should have been listed as a son, with the other relationships relative to Jane. But this census taker seems to have ignored that part of the instructions.
