Notes for Samuel J. Goodan
His surname was also spelled Goodwin, Goodin, and Gooden, but most descendants have setting on Goodan, so I am entering him that way to keep the families indexed together.

Dates of birth and death are from his gravestone.
Notes for Susan Wells
Her obelisk-style gravestone is inscribed Susan Wife of S. Goodan Born Dec. 10, 1821 Died Feb. 28, 1908.
Notes for Samuel J. & Susan (Family)
This family is in my database mainly to hold the records showing that their daughter Mary never married, since she is easily confused with Mary J. Goodan (4 Oct 1839-27 Apr 1910), daughter of Phillip W. Goodan and Sidney Day.
