Her obituary reported:

“Mrs. Nannie R. Fugate, 94, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born on March 25, 1906, in Menifee County, Ky., and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Fugate was a homemaker and attended Edgewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil R. Fugate in 1957; her parents, Charles and Amanda Staton; a grandson, Gary E. Fugate; sons Lloyd, Cecil and Leonard Fugate; brothers Henry, Chester, Amos and Clay Staton; a daughter, Mildred Ellington; and sisters Fannie Minton, Lola Dishman, Julia Peck, Lilly Mae Staton and Ruby Staton. She leaves five daughters, Frances Wells (Mason) of Dayton, and Mae Conrad, Mary Johnson (Mike), Jean Kakaris Baird (Jack) and Barbara Snell (Jack), all of Middletown; a son, Thomas Fugate (Caroline) of Camden; a brother, William Staton of Middletown; 37 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren and five great-great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Deloris and Patsy Fugate, both of Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express its special thanks to Dr. Mark Williams, M.D., and to Hospice of Middletown.”
