1910 census of Adams Co., Ohio, Franklin township, enumerated 30 April, lists on p. 8B as family #191:
Varvel, Harvey, 37, b. Ohio Ky Ky, widowed, tobacco farmer; Jennie, niece, 26, b. Oh Oh Oh, single, mother of 3 children, 3 living; Emma, niece, 10; Edna, niece, 7; Mabel, niece, 5; Vernie, nephew, 10. All children born Oh Oh Oh. Rose A., grandmother, 91, b. Oh Oh Va.
Jennie is the daughter of Harvey’s brother George. The three girls are hers, and thus should properly be listed as great nieces of Harvey. I do not know for sure if they were born out of wedlock, or if they should have another surname. In later years they went by Upton. Vernie (Vernon) is the son of Harvey’s brother William.
