Her obituary reported “Oma Marie Johnson Highley, 95, of Harrison Avenue, Mt. Sterling passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the St. Joseph-Mt. Sterling Hospital. She was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on November 19, 1916 the daughter of the late Nesbitt and Katie McCarty Johnson. Mrs. Highley was an employee of Enoch Manufacturing for 7 years and Cowden Manufacturing for 30 years, a member of the Mary Chiles Hospital Auxilllary, the M & M Food Pantry, PTA President, and member of the First Church of God. She was the widow of Chester Highley.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Highley (Billy) Watson of Mt. Sterling; a brother, W. D. Johnson of Middletown, OH; four sisters, Thelma (O.K.) Elam of Middletown, OH, Lucille Gratch of Hillsboro, OH, Ruby Bolen of Hillsboro, OH and Virginia (Rodney) Lovelace of Apache Junction, AZ; one granddaughter, Scarlett (John) Rowland of Oregonia, OH; two great grandchildren, Andrew Scott Hutchinson of Mason, OH and Aubrey Hutchinson Tritch of Morrow, OH; and two great great grandkids as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Thursday, October 23, 2012 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Keith Ruthenburg and Peter Hall officiating with burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the Taul Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations suggested to the M & M Food Pantry, P. O. Box 1158, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.”
