Charles is probably not a child of this marriage, since he was born about 3 years earlier, and he does not appear with George & Masel in the 1930 census. Most likely he is a son of George and an ealrier wife. He may have been with his mother or her relatives in 1930.

Cox, George, 26, age at first marriage 22, coal miner; Macel, wife, 23, age at first marriage 18. Both listed as born WVa WVa WVa, although it is wrong for George.

1940 census of Logan Co., West Virginia, town of Monitor, ED 23-17, enumerated 9 April, lists on p. 5A as family #77:
Cox, George, 37, b. Ky, motorest at coal mine; Masel, wife, 31, b. WVa, Charles, son, 17, b. WVa; Howard, Glen, lodger, 31, single, b. Va, machinest at coal mine. All living in Logan Co., WVa in 1935.
