His obituary reported “Claywade Riggsby, 35, Osborn, Killed. Struck by a Big Four freight train as he walked along the Fairfield right-of-way toward his home in Wright View Heights, Osborn, Claywade Riggsby, 35, workman at the government trailer camps at Wright Field was killed early Sunday. Deputy Sheriff Elias Quinn reported Mr. Riggsby was probably struck by a freight train which was due at Osborn at 12:06 Sunday. The body was found by Harry Sutton, also of Wright View Heights. Returning a verdict of accidental death, Coroner H. C. Schick said the victim suffered a fractured skull, compound fractures of the legs, and a compound fracture of the left arm. Mr. Riggsby was a native of Sandy Hook, Ky., and was employed at Wright Field by George Timmons, contractor of government camps. Surviving are two children, both of Sandy Hook, and his mother Mrs. Missouri Riggsby, Cottle, Ky.”
