Her obituary reported:

“SHELBY -- M. Lucille Dailey, 71, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 in MedCentral/ Mansfield Hospital. She was a former resident of 52 W. Tucker two-year resident of Crystal Care Center in Lexington. She died surrounded by her loved ones.

Born April 1, 1933 in Morehead, Ky., to Paul and Georgia Baer Staton, she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. Mrs. Dailey received her Bachelor's degree in social work and her Master of Arts degree from Morehead State University.

She was a retired employee of North Central State College where she worked as the Disability Services Assistant.
This past August, she was crowned the 2004 Queen of the Richland County Fair Ageless Beauty Contest. An avid supporter of higher education, she enjoyed reading, computers and art. She also enjoyed playing scrabble with family and socializing with her friends at the nursing home.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Diana Seaton of Shelby and Marcia and Greg Hall of Mansfield; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Shannon and Sherry Perry of Mansfield, Mark Perry of Lexington, Ky., Carl Dailey of Mansfield, Robert and Gidget Dailey of Goshen, Ind., and Paul and Jenny Dailey of Shelby; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her mother, Georgia Staton of Morehead, Ky.; brother, Harley Staton of South Carolina; sister, Corene Caudill of Morehead, Ky.; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her father, Paul Staton, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dailey in 2002; two sons, Calvin W. and Harley D. Perry; two daughters, Vicki L. Davis and Kimberly A. Perry; and son-in-law, Duane Seaton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Barkdull Funeral Home, Shelby. The Reverend Chad Honaker, of Bellevue Church of God, will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
