“Wilma J. Brown, age 81, resident of Shelby died unexpectedly Monday, November 26, 2012 in OSU James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.
Born March 20, 1931 in Bangor, Kentucky to W. Ray and Opal (Tackett) Staton, she has been a Shelby resident since 1945. Mrs. Brown was employed with MedCentral Shelby Hospital since 1980 retiring in 2009. Wilma enjoyed shopping, dining out and cherished the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Mark (Jill) Brown of Shelby; David Brown of Canton; one daughter, Paula Egner of Shelby; 13 grandchildren, Matt, Brady, Casey and Joni Egner, Cheryl Gregory, Anna Smith, Kristen Leuvoy, Andrea Hartge, Susan Demiter, Laura, Shelley and Sara Brown and Lisa Kasler; 16 great grandchildren: one brother, Junior (Janet) Staton of Shelby; one sister, Barbara Lykins of Shelby; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin D. Brown in 1989, brother, Charles Staton; sister, Ruth Corlett, son-in-law, Art Egner and brother-in-law, John Lykins.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday December 1, 2012 from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Bishop Craig Andrew will officate with interment in Oakland Cemetery.”
