Her obituary reported:

“Amanda Lou Sorrell McNabb, age 88, of Pine Grove Road, Olympia, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at her residence. She was born August 17, 1910 in Menifee County to the late William and Mahalia Terrell Sorrell. She resided in Bath County during her life and was a homemaker and a member of the Upper Salt Lick Church of Christ. She was the widow of Shelby McNabb.

Survivors include five sons, William (wife, Glenna) McNabb of Carlisle, Richard (wife, Lena) McNabb of Salt Lick, Joseph (wife, Fay) McNabb and Curtis (wife, Ellen) McNabb both of Olympia and Shelby Gene (wife, Joyce) McNabb of Muncie, In.; five daughters, Felcia (husband, Clifton) Patton of Pine Bluff, Ark., Rhoda (husband, Otis) Brashear and Hildred (husband, Roger) Pugh born of Olympia, Flora (husband, Charles) Beard of Prattsville, Ark., and Rosetta (husband, Thomas) Ferrel of Suddith; forty-nine grandchildren, seventy-eight great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Wilburn Clay McNabb.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 199 at the Mudlick Church of God with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial was in Upper Salt Lick Cemetery. Richardson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.”
