Census Notes for Gabriel & Ada “Addie” (Family)
1920 census of Wythe Co., Virginia, Lead Mines district, enumerated 16 Jan, lists on p. 17B as family #116/118:
Quesenberry, Gabiel, 45, engineer on steam railroad; Addie, wife, 34; Isaac, son, 11; Paul, son, 9; Georgia, dau, 7. All born Va Va Va.

All of the children are from Gabriel’s first marriage.

1930 census of Carroll Co., Virginia, Pine Creek precinct, enumerated 5 April, lists on p. 2B as family #41, on Double Cabin Road:
Quesenberry, Gabel, 55, age at first marriage 21; Addie A., wife, 45, age at first marriage 33; Jacob M., son, 9; Mary, dau, 8; Marine, dau, 7; Ruth, dau, 4 1/12; Ruby, dau, 4 1/12; Rachel, dau, 3 1/12; Abraham, son, 2 3/12. All born Va Va Va.

The spacing on the two youngest children seems awfully tight (ten months apart.) Judging by the 1940 census, Abraham should probably have been reported as younger.

Also on this page are families headed by Gabriel’s brothers James E. Quesenberry age 48 with wife Millie and Woodson C. Quesenberry age 42 with wife Agnes, and by George W. Sawyers age 54, brother of Gabriel’s first wife Elmira, with wife El*a (could be Elma, Elna, or Elvia).

1940 census of Carroll Co., Ky, Pine Creek precinct, ED 18-12 (Longshoal and Sylvatus), enumerated 29 April, lists on p. 9A as family #173:
