Her obituary in the Charleston (WV) Sunday Gazette of 17 May 2004 reported:

“ACCORD, N.Y. - Reba F. Manley, 91, of Accord, N.Y., formerly of Montgomery, died May 14, 2004, in Kingston Hospital, Kingston, N.Y., after a short illness.

Born May 11, 1913, in Deepwater, the daughter of the late James and Della Darlington Petry, she was a homemaker, and a member of the Pocahontas Lodge in Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Manley Sr. in 1983. She is survived by her son, Robert K. Manley Jr. of Accord, N.Y.; a daughter, Betty Jo Davis of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Valerie Nigro, Robert K. Manley III, Lauren Davis, and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m., Tues., May 18, 2004, at Montgomery Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with the Rev. Stephen Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the Chapel. Hooper, Bostic & Layne Funeral Home, 307 Adams Street, Montgomery, is in charge of arrangement.”

Carbon, son of S S and Elizabeth, and Reba Petry, age 22, born in and resident of Deepwater, daughter of Jim and Ella, first marriage for both, by W. T. Burks.

The registrar must have misheard “Jim and Della” as “Jim and Ella”.
