His obituary reported: “Mr. Carl Douglas Alfrey, age 71 of Ezel,Kentucky; passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008 in the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born January 24, 1937 in Menifee County, Kentucky; son of the Late Troy Alfrey and Vonnie Staton Alfrey.

He was retired from the Menifee County Job Corp. and proudly served his Country as a United States Marine. He also accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; Troy Alfrey and Vonnie Staton Alfrey and 1 Brother; Charles "Chuck" Alfrey.

Surviving is his Wife: Hilda Phillips Alfrey of Ezel, KY; 2 Sons; Carl D. Alfrey Jr. & wife Vera and Dwight Bradley Alfrey; 2 Grandchildren; Steven Douglas Alfrey & Amber Nicole Alfrey,all of Ezel,KY. 3 Sisters; Emogene Combs of Frenchburg, KY, Willodene Herrick of Indiana and Ruth Walton & husband Bobby of Ohio and 1 Brother; Roger Alfrey & wife Dee of Clearfield, KY.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, June 24, 2008 1:00 pm at the Ezel United Presbyterian Church in Ezel, Kentucky with Pastor Emily Boyce officiating. Interment will follow with burial in Alfrey's Green Acres Cemetery in Ezel, Kentucky. Visitation will begin after 6:00 pm Monday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, Kentucky.

Visitation after 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Ezel United Presbyterian Church in Ezel, Kentucky.

Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Reed, James Mynheer, Danny Joe Gevedon & Joe Bolin.

Active Pallbearers: Steven Alfrey, Claudell Nickell, Greg Motley, Chris Nickell, Jody Oldham, Ralph Collinsworth, Sherley Lovelace & James Nickell.
