Notes for John Newton Sexton
His obituary in the Middletown Journal of Nov 14, 1985 reported:

“John N. Sexton, 93, of 305 S. Breiel Blvd., died Wednesday at 2:20 pm at Middletown Regional Hospital, where he had been a patient for one day.

Born in Morgan County, Ky., he had lived here since 1920. He was employed at the former Wrenn Paper Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of the Towne Boulevard Church of God. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Miss Opal Sexton, in 1969.

He is survived by his wife Lucy with whom he would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on Dec. 17; two sons, Charles (Mollie) and James C., both of Middletown; three daughters, Mrs, Marie Mahaffey of Neosho, MO., Mrs. Nola McQuinn of Clovis, Calif., and Mrs. Eunice Duff of Middletown; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10pm at the Breitenbach-McCoy Funeral Home, the Rev. Billy Ball and Henry Howard officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park, Visitations will be Friday from 5 to 8pm at the funeral home.”

“Mrs. Lucy Ann Sexton, 94, of 305 S. Breiel Blvd., died at 6am today at her home.

She had been a cook at several local restaurants and was a member of the Towne Boulevard Church of God.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nola McQuinn of Clovia, Calif., Mrs. Eunice Duff of Middletown and Mrs. Marie Mahaffery with whom she made her home; two sons, Charles (Mollie) and James, both of Middletown; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva McGuire of Hamilton.”
