Notes for Perry F. Tyree
His gravestone, photographed on FindaGrave.com, gives his dates of birth and death as Jan. 28, 1849 to June 18, 1904, but he was recorded as age 2 in the 1850 census, with a younger brother Lafayette age 6 months, so the birth date on the stone is off by one year.

I cannot find this family in the 1860 census.
1870 census of Carter Co., Ky, precinct 3, Grayson P.O., enumerated 18 July, lists on p. 13 as family #82/76:
Tyree, Zachariah, 66, farmer, b. Va; Eliza, 56, b. Ky; Perry, 22, farmer, b. Ky; Lafayette, 20, farmer, b. Ky; Francis (male), 18, farmer, b. Ky; Philips, Dora (?), 2, fem, b. Ky.
The given name of the last child is very faded. Ancestry.com has transcribed it as Dore; a user has submitted the alternative transcription Lois, but it is incorrect. In 1880 she was recorded as Dora L. Tyree, and the California death index lists Dora Lee Vangorder, born 20 Mar 1868 in Kentucky, died 27 June 1955 in Los Angeles Co., father’s surname Tyree, mother’s maiden name Phillips.

The maiden name of Abbott is from the death certificate for their daughter Agnes (23 Aug 1866-26 Nov 1933, married name of Carr), which records her parents as Perry Tyree and Elva Abbott.
