The Kentucky death index lists Lonie H. Prater, age 75, died 3 Sep 1960 in Morgan Co., residence same.
His obituary reported:
“Lonie Hendricks Prater, 75, died Sept. 3 at the home of a sister, Mrs. Sallie Peyton on Grassy Creek. Funeral was conducted at Grassy Lick Baptist Church Sept. 5, with Revs. Joe Blevins and Bruce Daniels officiating. Interment was in the South Fork cemetery.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Paulina Peyton of Somerville, Ohio, and Mrs. Lizzie Tolson of Trenton, Ohio; three brothers, Russ Prater of Winchester, Kie Prater of Rossville, Kansas, and Harlan Prater of Farmer City, Illinois.
He had lived with his nephew, Orbie Peyton for 35 years, but due to illness in the family was living with his sister at the time of his death.
Herald & Steward Funeral Home had charge of funeral and interment.”
