Notes for Charles Newton York
His death certificate records C. N. York, age 69 years 6 months 15 days, born 1 Nov 1867 in Grant Co., died 17 May 1936 in Burlington, Boone Co., Ky, farmer, father Wm York, mother’s maiden name Martha Taylor, both born in Grant Co., cause of death hypostatic pneumonia, informant W. A. Pettit, Burlington, burial in I.O.O. - Burlington.

The marital status section has a long dashed line through it, partly under and partly through the widowed line. I do not know whether it was intended to signify widowed, never married, or unknown.

The reported age and birth date are probably off by a year. (He was recorded as age 4 in the 1870 census, age 13 in 1880, and age 33 b. Dec 1866 in 1900.)

The informant is Charles’ nephew William Albert Pettit, son of Samuel Pettit and Ida York.
