Notes for Floyd Amburgey
His death certificate records Floyd Amburgey, age 69 years 3 months 3 days, born 29 June 1867 in Lloyd Co., Ky, died 2 Oct 1936 in Franklin, Warren Co., Ohio, married, husband of Nora E. Lawson Amburgey, father Charles Amburgey, mother’s maiden name Milisia Wheahley, both born in Lloyd Co., Ky, cause of death cerebral apoplexy, informant Mrs. Nora E. Amburgey, R.R. 2, Franklin, Ohio, burial in Franklin, Ohio.
Notes for Nora Evelin Lawson
Her death certificate records Nora Evelin Amburgey, age 61 years 7 months 18 days, born 16 May 1882 in Menifee Co., Ky, died 4 Jan 1944 in Lemon township, Butler Co., Ohio, residence R.R. 2, Middletown, widow of Floyd M. Amburgey, father Bill Lawson, born in Breathitt Co., Ky, mother’s maiden name Francis Coldiron, born in Menifee Co., Ky, cause of death apoplexy, informant Hallie Sparks, R.R. 2, Middletown, burial in Franklin.

The reported year of birth is probably incorrect, since her parents were married some time in 1883. Also, she was recorded as age 26 in the 1910 census. (I have not found her nor her parents in the 1900 census.)
Census Notes for Floyd & Nora Evelin (Family)
1910 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Slate precinct, enumerated 22 April, lists on p. 4B as family #98/99:
Amburgy, Floyd, 42, second marriage, b. Ky Ky Va, farmer; Nora, wife, 26, married 8 years (child count columns blank), b. Ky Ky Ky; Hayden, son, 12; Holt, son, 10; Charley, son, 6; Merta, dau, 5; Polly, dau, 3; Roll, son, 2. All children born Ky Ky Ky.

The little superscript on the M in the marital status column for Nora is very scrunched and could be either a 1 with a heavy base or a skinny 2.

1920 census of Menifee Co., Ky, Leatherwood precinct, enumerated 2 Feb, lists on p. 8A as family #122:
Amburgy, Floyd M., 43, b. Ky Ky Va, farmer; Nora E., wife, 37; Charles H., son, 16; Meda M., dau, 15; Holly C., dau, 14; Duran R., son, 11; Bunion S., son, 10; Victor M., son, 7. All born Ky Ky Ky.

1930 census of Warren Co., Ohio, Franklin township, enumerated 19 May, lists on p. 20A as family #411/416, on Dixie Highway:
Amburgey, Nora, 47, divorced; Charles, son, 27, laborer at steel mill; Hollie, dau, 23; Rollie, son, 22; Bunyon, son, 21; Victor, son, 18. All born Ky Ky Ky, all children single, the three youngest sons farm laborers.

Although Nora is recorded as divorced, when Floyd died in 1936 he was recorded on his death certificate as still married to her. So they might only be separated.

1940 census of Warren Co., Ohio, Franklin township, ED 83-11, enumerated 8 May, lists on p. 14B as family #253, on River Road:
Amburgey, Rollie, 33, b. Ky, farmer; Grace, 25, wife, b. Tenn. Harold, son, 3, b. Ohio; Sharron, dau, 2, b. Ohio; Nora, mother, 58, widowed, b. Ky; Bunion, brother, 29, single, b. Ky. All except the children living in the same house in 1935.

Rollie’s is one of the lines with supplemental questions, but it only tells us that his native language is Engish, both his parents were born in Ky, he has only been married once, and his usual occupation is farming.
