Many online family trees identify Nancy’s husband with David M. Coffee, born 9 July 1857 in Morgan Co., son of Amos D. Coffee and Nancy Jane Williams, but if that is correct, it would mean that he married at age 15, which seems young for a boy to marry a woman five years his senior. In the 1880 census, both David and Nancy are recorded as age 28. Also, while a birth record exists for the David born to Amos Coffee and Nancy Williams in 1857, he does not appear with them in the 1860 or 1870 censuses, so he very probably died in early childhood.

Her death certificate records Nancie Jan Pugh, age 73 months 8 days (numbers are shifted into wrong field), born 13 Nov 1853 in Magoffin Co., died 15 Mar 1926 in Johnson Fork, Magoffin Co., Ky, married, father Daniel Brown, mother’s maiden name Rebecky Estrling, informant J. H. Coffee, Epson, Ky, burial in Patrick Cemetery.

Magoffin Co., Ky marriage records list the marriage on 19 Dec 1872 of David W. Coffee and Nancy Ann Brown.

1880 census of Morgan Co., Ky, Red River precinct, enumerated 2 June, lists on p. 4 as family #31:
