Census Notes for James & Juda (Family)
1860 census of Breathitt Co., Ky, district 1, Jackson P.O., enumerated 30 July, lists on p. 110 as family #744:
James Smith, 63, farmer; Juda, 34; Franky (female), 20; Isham, 18; Charles, 16; Analiza, 14; Polly, 12; Arnetta, 10; Henry, 8; Armina, 6; Elizth J., 5; Jas L., 3. All born in Kentucky. Elizth Damron, 90, b. Virginia.

The ages for all of the children of James and his first wife Louisa are recorded here as a year or two younger than implied by 1850 census. E.g., Arnetta was recorded as age 2, and Henry was listed as Bud age 8 months.

The preceding household is headed by Wiley Jones and his wife Elizabeth, whose son Greenberry Jones would later marry James’ and Juda’s daughter Arnetta.

I cannot find this family in the 1870 census.

1880 census of Breathitt Co., Ky, Frozen precinct, enumerated 3 June, lists on p. 5 as family #39:

The preceding household is headed by Henry Smith age 27.
