Notes for Richard “Dick” Franklin Croson
Dates of birth and death are from his gravestone, as recorded on FindaGrave.com. I cannot find him in the West Virginia death records28, so he may have died in another state.
Notes for Clementine “Tiny” Young
Her death certificate records Mrs. Clementine Croson, age 62 years 9 months 28 days, born 15 Feb 1874 in W.Va, died 13 Dec 1936 in Teays, Putnam Co., West Virginia, widowed, husband don’t know, father James Young, mother’s maiden name don’t know, both born in W.Va., cause of death carcinoma of breast, informant Mr. Joe Crosson, burial in Young Cemetery.

Since the informant is her son, he surely knew the name of his own father! Maybe the clerk taking down the information just didn’t ask.
