His obituary reported:

“James M. "Jim" Paxton, 98, of St. Albans, died December 27, 2010 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.
Born September 9, 1912 near Cattletsburg, KY, he was a son of the late John Benjamin and Letta Bayless Paxton.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Paxton Moore and his brother, Robert Paxton.

Beginning a career spanning more than 40 years,
Jim assisted in the building of the Union Carbide plant, Alloy, WV and retired as a production accountant with the South Charleston plant. During his career with Carbide, he took a short leave while serving his country with the United States Navy. He was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, St. Albans.

Surviving are his wife, Frances C. Paxton; his son, Richard K. Paxton of St. Albans; his daughter and her husband, Carol and James Harvester of Tampa, FL; his brother and his wife, Roy Kendall and Betty Paxton of Lakeland, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service at Lakeview United Methodist Church with Rev. Ritchie McNiel officiating. Burial, with military honors, in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.”

“Frances Lee Christian Paxton, 94, of St. Albans, WV died February 28, 2012. Born October 3, 1917 in East Bank, WV and raised there as well, she was a daughter of the late Kitty Pettit.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, James M. Paxton.

She was a homemaker and served the local public library for over 30 years and was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, St. Albans, WV.

Surviving are her son, Richard K. Paxton of St. Albans;
her daughter and her husband, Carol and James Harvester of Tampa, FL;
several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 2624 Parkview Drive, East, St. Albans, with Pastor Richie McNiel officiating. Burial in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.”
