Notes for James Wilgus Profitt
The Kentucky birth index lists James Wilgus Profitt, born 14 Jan 1932 in Morgan Co., mother’s maiden name Della F. Bush. It is a delayed certificate, filed on 13 Mar 1995.

I have no known connection to this James W. Profitt. He is in my files because he is very easily confused with the James Wilgus Profitt (1926-1985) who married my fourth cousin Vivian R. Hardin, and who also died in Montgomery Co., Ohio, so I want to collect the records documenting that they are not the same person, and which one of them married whom.

His obituary in the Dayton Daily News of Oct. 15, 2006 reported:

“PROFITT, James Wilgus 74, of Miamisburg passed away Friday October 13, 2006 at Kettering Hospital. A native of Morgan County, Ky he was the son of Wm. Morgan and Della Fern (Bush) Profitt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Karen. James was a retired maintenance worker for the Marriott Corp. and a member of the Community Harvest Church. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley, 2 sons Ronald (Joan) of Miamisburg, Bruce (Crickett) of Springfield, 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves brothers and sisters, Cartis of Miamisburg, Robert of Tennessee, Walter and Roger of Kentucky, Daisy Banks, Nora Manning, Thelma Centers and Bernice Burnett all of Kentucky. (Notice no son named James W. Profitt Jr., either surviving or deceased. This shows that he is not the same James Wilgus Profitt who married Vivian Hardin.)
