“Gerald “Jack” Clevinger, 80, Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 in his home. He was born in Pike County, KY, son of Ernest and Bessie (Davis) Clevinger. Gerald retired from Chrysler in 1986. He was a walker at Washington Square Mall, having surpassed the 100,000 mile mark in 2010. He loved to visit with his friends at the mall, who knew him as Gerry.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys (Prewitt) Clevinger; his daughter, Wendelin (Gary) Clevinger McArthy of Indianapolis; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Clevinger of Morehead, KY and Clayton Clevinger of Graham, NC and his sister, Betty Workman of Ocala, FL. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earnest Clevinger, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Flanner and Buchanan Washington Park East , 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.”

Clevinger who was the daughter of Bessie Davis is the same one who married Gus Workman, since there was another Betty Clevinger born in Pike Co., Ky on 4 July 1938, daughter of Woodrow Clevinger and Belva Hogston.
