Finally we see the transition from blue to black eyebrows that justified having yellow ones two frames back. Another thing worth noting on this sequence is the mouth on the surprised face, which looks like a closed shape but isn't. Illustrator will actually blend between open and closed shapes automatically, but it can't be counted on to break the open path where you want it to. You get more control by cutting it open where you want the gap to appear, in this case near the upper left. Always move the endpoints a tiny distance apart, like 1/8 point, so that Illustrator can distinguish the right end from the left end and match them accordingly. If the scissored points are left exactly at the same place, the transitional shapes may twist inside out as the left edge of the cut closed path is matched to the right edge of the open path. |
