In her marriage license application, Jennie B. Hale lists her mother's maiden name as Anna Sellers, b. in Warsaw, Indiana, deceased.
Ken Fawley’s family group sheets show Anna’s parents as Joseph W. Sellers and Elizabeth York, but I do not know his source for that. It cannot be a birth, death or marriage record, since his charts show only approximate dates for any of those events in her life. I cannot find any Ann* Sellers (or Zellers) with a father Joseph or mother Elizabeth in the censuses, nor any Ann* Sellers or Zellers at all in Kosciusko Co in 1860 or 1870, nor any Ann* Sellers with a birthdate in 1857 to 1859 born in Indiana.
There are quite a few born in 1860-1862, though, including:
Anna E. Sellers age 8 in 1870, in Marshall Co., Ind, daughter of John Henry Sellers and Elmira Miller. She married John Huffman (son of Aaron Huffman) in 1879 in Marshall Co.
Ann Sellers age 9 in Noble Co., Ind, daughter of David and Sarah Sellers. She was still in Noble Co. as age 19, single, in 1880, when this Anna Sellers was already married.
Anna Sellers age 9 in Johnson Co., Ind, daughter of Reuben and Abigail Sellers.
Annie Sellers age 9 in Dearborn Co., Ind, daughter of Thomas W Sellers and Mary Ann Given.
