The source for this John Garber is Harry D. Zook's entry for the Henry Zug family, which gives no dates for John or his marriage to Barbara Zook. Note, though, that he cannot be the same as John Garber who became the first Elder of the Donnel's Creek Church of the Brethren, and also married a Barbara Zook. This is both due to age conflicts (Elder John Garber had nine adult children in 1813, and there is no indication that they were not all by his wife Barbara Zook, so she must have been born before 1765), and more solidly, because the will of Henry Zook of Chester Co., PA, written in 1820, names as co-executor his grandson Henry Garber, who was thus apparently still in Chester Co., PA, while the will of John Garber, written in 1813 in Ohio, explicitly lists all of his children, none of whom were named Henry.

Dates of birth and death, as well as marriage to a John Garber, from page 243 of the Harry D. Zook genealogy. The source for the marriage is the will of Henry Zook of Chester Co., written in 1820, which makes a bequest to his daughter Barbara wife of John Garber. That book has no other details on the John Garber/Barbara Zook family, as it covers only male line Zug descendents, but there is no indication that they did not remain in Pennsylvania like most of the other members of the Henry Zook (#2257) family. Thus, Barbara probably died there.
