Montgomery Co. Probate Court Civil Journal B, p. 3, date Nov. 28, 1854, has two entries titled "In the matter of the heirs of George Heeter dec'd." The first one says "George Heeter aged 18 years September 9th, 1854 and Martha A. Heeter aged 13 years September 11th, 1854 this day came into open court and chose Sebastian H. Heeter as their guardian. And the court approving of their said choice do appoint the said Sebastian H. Heeter Guardian of the aforesaid minors children and heirs of George Heeter dec'd. And thereupon came into open court the said Sebastian H. Heeter accepted said appointment and gave bond in the penal sum of Four thosand Dollars with David Heck as his security approved by the Court and conditioned according to law." The second says "John Heeter aged 15 years June 25th 1854 child and heir of George Heeter dec'd this day came into open court and chose Adam Heeter as his guardian and the court approving said choice do appoint the said Adam Heeter as such Guardian to said minor. And thereupon the said Adam Heeter came into open court accepted said appointment and gave bond in the penal sum of Two thousand Dollars with William McCormick as his security approved by the Court and conditioned according to law." (George's younger children thus chose their older brothers as guardians. At the time, Adam was 34 and Sebastian 28.)
