There is a gravestone in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near North Manchester for John, next to his first wife Edna’s, with his date of birth and a blank death date, but according to his granddaughter Nancy Mueller, John is buried with his second wife Elizabeth in Granville, North Dakota. The plot next to Edna was apparently purchased and the stone set over it when she died, but his side was not used.
