Notes for John Frantz
This family is profiled on p. 44 of Lester Binnie's Early Brethren Families of the Eel River Congregation, with additional information on p. 2 of the Addendum.
His gravestone in Cripe Cemetery is difficult to read. Probable inscription "John Frantz died 4 Feb 1872, aged 8(4) y (5) m 2(5) d". The date of birth I’ve entered is calculated from this inscription.
His will dated 14 Jan 1862 and recorded on 27 Feb 1872 in Wabash County Will Book B, pages 22-23, leaves all his property to his wife, not named. The executors are his son John Frantz Jr. and Abraham Frantz, who is described in the will as “my friend”, although he was also John’s son-in-law (husband of Nancy) and his first cousin once removed. Witnesses are George Heeter and L. B. Mussleman.
Notes for Barbara Arnett
Barbara was listed as 64 in the 1860 census of Wabash Co. According to Lester Binnie, no cemetery record was found for her.
Notes for John & Barbara (Family)
Montgomery Co., Ohio, marriage book A-1, p. 68, records the marriage of John France and Barbara Arnet on 11 Dec 1817, by Geo. W. Miller, Justice of the Peace.
