Notes for Johan Friederich Gerst
Records of Sembach Reformed Church (see Notes for his brother Theobald) lists on p. 46B the marriage of Johan Friederich son of Michael Gerste to Hedwig Margaretha daughter of Andrea Tomy on 10 Sep 1737.
This may be the Friederich Gerst who travelled to America with Theobald Gerst (see his Notes) and took the oath of allegiance at the same time. On the other hand, that is more likely to have been Theobald's son, who would have been 16 at the time. If it was this Friederich, he was travelling without his wife and children, which doesn't seem too likely since Theobald took his family. Also, there are no records in the Sembach church records for Friedrich & Hedwig after 1744 (five years before Theobald emigrated), so Friederich and his family may have preceded his brother to America.

Surname indexed in the IGI as Thomy, but in examining the microfilm of her marriage record, it looked like just "Tomy" to me.
