Notes for Mahlon Heeter
I could not find either a marriage record or a death record for Mahlon in Wabash Co.
Binnie's "Cemetery Records of Chester twp" lists on p. 59, in Pleasant Hill Cem, a double stone for: "Mahlon Heeter 1872-1937 Susanna 1874-1942". This is adjacent to the stones for their daughter Edith Fern, and for Mahlon's brother John A. Heeter (1860-1936).

The index to Wabash Co. death records lists in Bk 1907-37, p. 62, Susana Heeter d. 10-28-30, age 56, in N. Manchester, buried in Pleasant Hill.
Ruth Heeter b. 22 Dec 1901 said that her parents were Mahlon Heeter & Susanna Butterbaugh. This agrees with the death record cited above, and with the cemetery inscription. But the 1900 census listed Mahlon's wife as "Tudie", and the Wabash County History listed Mahlon's wife as Truda Butterbaugh. I guess one of these was a first name and one a middle name, but I don't know which was which.
