Lester Binnie's Cemetery Records of Kosciusko Co. lists on p. 55: Heeter Melvin O. 1882-1960 Florence 1883-1961 adjacent is a stone for: Heeter Gerald M. & Trilby died 10 Feb, 1916 age 12 days
His obituary in the Wabash newspaper, Mon. Oct 10, 1960, reads: "Melvin O. Heeter, a lifetime resident of Sidney, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, on his 78th birthday, in the Dunfee nursing home in Wabash. He had been ill for the past two years. He was born Oct. 9, 1882 near Sidney, to Reuben and Elizabeth (Priser) Heeter, and married Florence Nichols Nov. 23, 1904. She survives. ... Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Mildred) Priser, of North Manchester, Mrs. Max (Erma) Fretz, of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Harold (Norma) Dome, of Rt. 2, Pierceton. Also surviving is a brother, Clifton Heeter, of Valparaiso, and eight grand- children. A son, Gerald, and a daughter, Trilby Lavilla, preceded him in death."
Melvin and Florence Heeter lived next door to mom's family when she was a child. They called them "Uncle Mel and Aunt Flossie", but didn't think he was really related to them.
