Lowell Beachler, 1612 Grayson Rd., Modesto, CA 95351, in a 1986 submission to Early Clark County Families Vol. II, p. 170, wrote that Anna Frantz, widow of Adam Crist, married 2nd John Swank Jr., b 1823 d 1887, and that she died 19 Mar 1912. But Lester Binnie's Cemetery Records for Chester Township, p. 89, shows stones for John Swank 1823-1906, age 83 y 2 m 3 d, and Fanny Swank wife of John, age 53 y 5 m 10 d. Furthermore, John's death certificate shows that he died 23 Mar 1906 in North Manchester and was born 20 Jan 1823 in Ohio, father John Swank, mother unknown, and that his wife, named Lizzie Swank, survived him. This wife Lizzie is listed with him in the 1900 census as being born Sep 1842, and married 20 years. So either Lowell Beachler's submission was wrong, or else there were two John Swanks who were born in 1823 in southwest Ohio, and the one who married Anna Frantz Crist wasn't the same as the one who married Fanny Litten and then Elizabeth. Most of Daniel Frantz Jr. & Sophia Ohmart's children remained in Ohio, so Anna and her second husband may have as well.

Heather Reich, rehhaslj@gte.net, faxed me some family group sheets for the John Swank & Fanny Litten family, and the family of Fanny's parents James Litten and Sarah Blair. I am entering only the first five of their children (two of whom, Sarah and Mariah, married Heeters), because no details (dates, spouses, etc.) were given for the rest. The others were Dayton, Zachariah, Ambrose, Catherine, and Francis.
