Lindy-Lou 'n Cindy-Sue was published by Merrill in 1954. All art is by Elizabeth Anne Gartrell Voss, working under the name E. A. Voss. It was reprinted in 1961 as Candy and Her Cousins, with different covers and slightly different dolls, but the same dresses. Some other Merrill books illustrated by Voss include the paper dolls Little Miss Christmas and Holly Belle, Children Around the World, and Umbrella Girls, plus many coloring books. The original book is 10 1/3 inches wide by 14 3/16 inches tall. I've provided printable images here in three formats: (1) in the original layout and colors, (2) in the original layout but with the colors brightened and the background made white, and (3) with the dolls and costumes separated out and enlarged. Because letter paper is quite a lot smaller than the original book, printing the pages in the original layout will create a 78% reduction. Printing the reformatted pages will give you dolls and costumes that are the exact same size as they are in the original book, making them better for cutting and playing. Print the dolls on heavy cardstock, as thick as your printer can accommodate. (In the original book, they are about the weight of cereal box cardboard, but most printers will not take that weight, and it is hard to find.) If you do not have a quality color printer, a staple-bound reproduction of this book is also available from the Paper Goodies web site, with the dolls and covers on 80 lb cardstock. (It appears that their version has more intense colors than mine does.) Click on the small images to open the printable pages in a separate window. (This also works for the covers and centerfold illustration above.) |
